Crawford SUNDAY SEPT. 22 Il am Welcome to the Country Church Saturday afternoon when their son Brian Shaw and Frankie Prebette of North Carolina, USA, were united in holy matrimony with Rev. Fred Swann officiating at the ceremony. The maid of honour was Diane Wilson of Peter- borough, and the best man - Gary Harris of Toronto. A tape of the Wedding March was us- ed for the music. All the family were able to at- tend with the exception of daughter Brenda who lives in Western Canada. Approximately 30 guests were present for the event. A delicious buffet supper was enjoyed after the ceremony. The bride and groom are both truck drivers - working for the same Toronto Company. On Sunday evening they went back to work. We do admire Brian and Frankie - and extend very best wishes to them for a wonderful life together. Nestleton Presbyterian Church 140th Anniversary With a good number in attendance Rev. F. Swann conducted the first part of the service at 11 a.m. with Mrs. G. Scott, organist. The song, "The Door Is Always Open," written by the late Edward G. Lennard, was sung in unison, following the reading of Psalm 84. The guest speaker, Rev. Morley Mitchell accompanying himself on his guitar sang two solos - "'Shepherd of Love' and "In His Time." Conduc- ting the latter part of the service, Rev. Mitchell had a special prayer with the Sunday School as they went to classes. Preaching on the topic "Called into Contact," Rev. Mitchell spoke of his pastorage since leav- ing Nestleton, Ballyduff and Millbrook, where he was student minister in 1969-1972. After being in Cochrane and Kapuskas- ing, and later in New Liskeard. They are now at Amberlee, near Pickering. His wife, Bar- bara, son Matthew and daughter, Rebecca, ac- companied him on the special 140th Anniver- sary of Nestleton In his busy schedule of com- pleting studies for his doctorate, complete renovating of Church building in Kapuskasing, and establishing a new congregation and church in Dunbarton, many wonderful experiences have blessed his endeavours. Neta Fish held a celebration of four bir- thdays on Sunday after- noon - daughter Audrey Leishman and sons, Michael and Jamie Reaboro and Vicki Ban- nister of Peterborough a grandaughter. All in September! Best Wishes to all these celebrants from this area. Neta had 17 for evening dinner. Her family were getting the fall work in the garden all cleaned up and cut the grass as well.
