We started off by making blueberry and apple pie. Then while they were baking we did some tests with pastry and baking powder. When the pies were done we endulged ourselves with a piece of both. As last time, we came home with our tummies full. The meeting on October 8 started with the 4-H pledge and roll call. Then we all went into the kitchen to help make Cornish Pastries and Banana Coconut Cream Pie. While they were baking we went over our home studies. After they were cook- ed, we feasted on the delicious meal that we prepared. The third meeting of the Blackstock Pastry Puffs was held on October 7 at Janet VanCamp's home. We began with the 4-H pledge and then we ventured into the Kkit- chen to make a banana cream pie and a chicken corn pie. The group was split so that four people work- ed on each specific thing. After we had them made, we went over the material for the meeting while they were cooking. We were then told about our home assignment after which we ate our creations. After eating we did the pastry test for that meeting. | think that the pastry made with shortening came out on top.
