(Hwy. 7A) Port Perry Plaza We recares the (ght tg mat quantities by Gerry MacDonald Well, October 1s here and many different things are happening throughout the halls and classrooms of Port Perry High School Clubs are getting organized, meetings are being planned and events are taking place October 7 - 11th was "Foreign Child Week at PP HS Twice a year we try to raise money for our three Foster Children During foreign child week we ras. ed a total of $1855.68 In the senior division, homeroom 13B raised $315.38 and 13A raised $203.20 In the junior division homeroom 10F raised $130.39 and homeroom 9B raised $117.11. These homerooms raised the most money in their divisions. Congratulations Rebels and thanks for contributing to a Foreign child. If you were anywhere near P.P.HS. on Friday, October 11th. you would have heard the hustle and bustle of many students enjoying the chance to 'Boogie.' On Friday, Oc- tober 11th, another Sock Hop took place and it was a great way to end the week. Congratulations to the McEachern Brothers who did a fine Job of D.J. 'ing this Sock Hop. Monday, October 14th was our an- nual Thanksgiving Holiday. I hope everyone had a great long-weekend and I'm sure all students used this holiday to catch up on their homework. Sure they did! Now that the long weekend is over we must get back into the swing of things. To begin with, school jackets are being sold on the 15th, 16th and 17th of October. A deposit of 50 percent is required upon ordering your jacket and che- ques are to be made payable to Port Perry High School. This year 2 dif- ferent styles are being offered to the students and these are: 1. a nylon bomber; 2. melton jacket with leather sleeves. The prices are approximately $50 and $100 respectively. These jackets make great Christmas presents - Mom and Dad. This Friday October 18th is our annual Sadie Hawkins dance. So girls. don't be shy! Ask your favourite guy to the dance on Friday October 18th. We hope to see everyone at the dance Friday night! It's been a busy week for Paul Milligan as he learns the duties he is responsible for as Scugog Township's new building inspec- tor and by-law enforcement officer. Mr. Milligan took over the posi- tion a week ago Monday, after being chosen from a large number of applicants for the position.
