Crawford SUNDAY OCTOBER 27 11am "Welcome To The Country Church' Our community was shocked in- to stunned disbelief on Thursday evening by the news of the terrible gas explosion that had claimed the life of Don Wright and injured Graham Duff and two fellow workers. The high esteem that Don had held was shown by the huge numbers at the funeral on Sunday afternoon which filled every part of the United Church past capacity. Many of his school chums, business associates as well as relatives and friends had come from points all across Ontario to pay tribute to him. Sincere sympathy to his young wife, Diane (nee van der Heul), his two small children, Andrea and Travis, his parents, Thelma and Lloyd Wright, sisters Cheryl (Mrs. Brian DeJong), Leslie and brother Harold and his many other relatives. Our thoughts are also with Graham who is improving in the Burn Unit of Wellesley Hospital with serious burns, his wife Barb and children, Jeremy and Karen, parents Ross and Alma Duff and sister Marilyn. Our wishes are for as speedy a recovery as possible. Sympathy is also expressed to Vernon and Vera Asselstine and family on the passing of Vern's mother, Mrs. Violet Pools at Belleville Hospital. The funeral was held on Saturday. Their eldest son Gerald Asselstine was home from Vancouver for his grandmother's funeral. Better health is wished for Mark Graham who suffered a broken leg last Tuesday in an accident while loading cattle. He spent several days in Oshawa Hospital returning home on Saturday. Ruth and Bill Marconi have recently returned home from a delightful three week vacation in Greece. It sounds like a dream trip to places that are heard about but seldom visited by residents of this area. We will be waiting to see your pictures, Bill.
