Crawford back from his trip to England - and he took as his theme "Security" taken from Scripture, Psalm 84 read by Daniel Pugh Jr. The organist was Kathleen Watts from Blackstock, and very much appreciated. Next Sunday for a warm welcome and a good service. Sympathy Deepest sympathy to the family of the late Marion Bell, who passed away during the week, after a lengthy illness. Marion was a fine, dedicated member of Honeydale Women's Institute, being President of the Branch for the second time. A great worker in her better days! We shall miss her! Nestleton United Celebrates Anniversary With Rob and Carol Mairs and family greeting at the door a capaci- ty congregation for this unique oc- casion. Nestleton United Church celebrated 150 years of the former Salem Church and 85 years in the present Sancutary. The weather was ideal and many friends of by gone days were welcomed by the Minister Rev Dale Davis Our An- nmversary speaker Rev Harry Atkinson who grew up in Nestleton - used as his theme 'Magnificent Faith.'® He presented many thoughts with a bit of humour, now and then - for all to take home. Harry was in fine form and brought back many nostalgic memories of by gone days A joy to listen to him! Rev John and Muriel Smith and Elaine Romeril were among the in- vited guests and brought greetings and extended good wishes for the future Many Ministers who had served at Nestleton and had been in- vited, were unable to attend Lawrence Malcolm, Clerk of Ses- sion read the letters of regret For the special music the Senior Citizens Choir from Port Perry. with leader Win Philp and pianist Edna Beckett - sang with fervor two an- thems. "Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho" and "I Walked To-day Where Jesus Walked © We thank these guests for their splendid gift of song, much appreciated by the congregation The Junior Choir sang, "Love 1s a Circle" led by Jamce MacKenzie with pranist Bet- ty Headon. Our regular organist Gwendolyn Malcolm played for the service. Pots of flowers graced the Sanc- tuary arranged by the members. Tea, coffee, Anniversary cake and a variety of cookies were served in the Sunday School Room after the service. An hour of visiting was enjoyed. As we go forward in this Anniver- sary year let us face the day with courage - and dedication - and keep the Church growing.
