DUIVESTEYN - McKAGUE On July 27th, 1985, Emmanuel Reformed Church, Whitby, Ontario, was the setting for the marriage of Linda Duivesteyn, daughter of Anthony and Margaret Duivesteyn of Blackstock to David McKague, son of Dean and Dorothy McKague of Woodville. Rev. Wayne Joosse officiated at the ceremony. Organist was Mr. lke Raaphorst, uncle of the bride. Soloist was Tammie Chilco. Tammie's hus- band Paul accompanied with the guitar. Given in marriage by her father, Linda wore a white gown of chiffon over taffeta featuring a high mandarin collar, sheer yoke with embroidered Schifflie lace and pearled cameo, full bishop sleeves and blouson bodice. Her full circular skirt fell into a chapel train. A matching profile hat held her two tiered French illusion veil. Linda carried a cascading silk bouquet of fuchsia and white roses, pink babies breath, white apple blossom and ivy. The maid of honour was Karen Duivesteyn, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Angela Duivesteyn, sister of the bride, Linda Wilson, friend of the bride and Wendy Webster, sister of the groom. They wore cocktail length fuchsia coloured dresses with fitted bodices and full skirts with matching high cuffed collared jackets. The bridesmaids carried tear drop style silk bouquets of pink carnations, white roses and fuchsia coloured lilies. The flowergirl, Sheri Caister, niece of the groom, wore a short white dress accented by a fuchsia coloured sash. She carried a nosegay of silk flowers similar to the bride's bouquet. The best man was Paul Boucek, friend of the groom. Ushers were San- dy McQuarcie and Jamie Lytle, friends of the groom and Robert McKague, brother of the groom Junior usher was Scott Caister, nephew of the groom. David wore a black tuxedo, white pleated shirt, black cummerbund and bowtie. He wore a fuchsia coloured silk rose boutinniere His attendants were handsomely dressed in black tuxedos, white pleated shirts with custom made fuchsia coloured cummerbunds and bowties. They each wore complimentary boutinnieres The bride's mother received guests at Oakwood Community Centre wear- ing a street length dress of soft blue with gray accessories and a silk cor- sage of soft pink roses The groom's mother assisted wearing a teal blue street length dress with white accessories and a radiant pink rose corsage Master of Ceremonies was Terry Manion, a friend of the groom After honeymooning in Spain, Dave and Linda now reside in Manilla, Ontario Councillor WARD IV BILL LININGTON On November 12th ... VOTE LININGTON, BILL For more information please call = 986-5640 High comments for Sheila PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, November 5, 1985 -- 27 Greenbank and Area News Sheila Davis a former Green- bank student was recipient of the Sr. Award in the Basic Program at Port Perry High School Commen- cement last week. Sheila's teacher gave high comments of her work, and we add our congratulations. The Jr. award went to Kim Taylor who has since moved to Fenelon Falls. This award is given each year by the Greenbank Women's Institute and was presented by the Public Relations Conv. Mrs. Doris Hill. It was heart warming to see Greenbank Church filled on Sun- day for the 89th Anniversary Ser- vice. Rev. John Griffen's sermon (based on the 23 Psalm *'The Chur- ch and its Shepherd') gave everyone much to take home and think about. The Jr. and Sr. choirs music was enjoyed and ap- preciated by all. The community was shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic fire on Saturday when John, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Andrews lost his life in the blaze. Our sincere sympathy goes out to all the family. All ladies of the community are invited to attend the November UCW meeting to be held in the church this Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. Ruth Stone will bring a display of Christmas arrangemen- ts which should help to get us into the Christmas spirit. Mrs. Margaret Carr, Mrs. Lois Gibson, Alex and Sharron Leask, attended the church service spent the day with their mother, Mrs. Aleta Leask. The Seagrave, Greenbank Scout movement Parent's meeting will take place at Seagrave Church on Wed. November 13 at 7:30. (not correction of date). They are hoping to have the meetings on a regular date, the 2nd Wednesday of every month. Congratulations to Carol Phoenix on receiving her B.Ed degree at the fall convocation at York University in Toronto on Saturday Mr. and Mrs Don McKean visited with her mother, Mrs. Florence Archer, Port McNicoll on Saturday. New homes are going up very quickly in Greenbank, but one day last week a house popped up one afternoon over on Pearl Drive. They tell us complete with roof. Keep in mind the special W.1. get-to-gether Wed. November 20th at 8 p.m. in Greenbank Hall when Dr. Eva Mannen of Port Perry will bring us some points to keep us in better health. It 1s good to see Mrs. Mona Mero able to be out again after recovering from eye surgery. Polite trick or treaters at door on scary Halloween Prince Albert and Area News by llean Pugh Well by now the Halloween costumes have been put away for another year. | must say that there were some really good ones and some very polite children as I had over one hundred at my door. Election fever is now in full swing. I hear that there was a real good turnout at the all Candidates meeting on Wednesday night. Be sure and vote for the candidate of your choice next Tuesday, Novem- ber 12th. Les and Grace Beacock accom- panied their son Grant one day last week and visited Les' brother in Lindsay. Glad that you are im- proving Les. Another tragedy struck our area on Saturday when a twelve year old lost his life in a barn fire. Everyene's thoughts and prayers are with the Andrews family at this time. Congratulations to the children who won prizes in the pumpkin contest. With some thought and time a plan pumpkin can sure change. Euchre players the regular time and place on Thursday. News items are very short this week.
