PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, November 5, 1985 -- 3) For The Little Prince The Borelians Lynn Korbak Lynn is presently a grade 11 high school student and the President of the Drama Club, so her interest in the theatre is not a surprise. She finds a challenge in theatre that she enjoys using as an outlet for her creativity and her imagination. Her "first ever" role was that of Hansel in 'Hansel and Gretel' played in grade 4 and 5. In high school she played a person in the award winn- ing production of 'After Liverpool," as well as a role in the "'Burglers" the following year. Her next 'challenge' is directing the group of 6 'Roses' in the rose garden in 'The Little Prince." It is the Prince's discovery of this rose garden that teaches him that his rose is not the only rose in the world. This production will be her second with the Borelians, her first having been as assistant stage manager for last year's award winning ""Marigolds" play. She looks for- ward to this being the beginning of a very satisfying hobby in her life. Carl Platten Carl is new to the Borelians group, but he brings with him a great deal of varied and fascinating background. His professional train- ing is in industrial design, however, his applications of this seem limited only by the imagination. He has not had a lot to do with live theatre, but has had considerable experience in set design and building for movies. some of you may be familiar with the rock video "38 Special" for which he designed and built a 16' x 16' fire wall which burned for about 15 minutes while shots of wild stallions and girls in red cards were taken using this as a backdrop. His company Little Toad Hall, located in Cadmus is involved in numerous ventures, including designs for Ex- po '86, marketing a new doodle art set, illustrating formula 2000 cars for Esso, and designing a museum for sunken treasure in the Grand Caymen Islands. His politican cartooning, he says is just 'for fun." Carl has done the graphic design for the Borelians production of **The Little Prince' showing in November. He thinks that "The Lit- tle Prince' has tremendous appeal because of its blend of reality, and non-reality. Watch for his illustra- tion on the posters soon to be distributed through town. guided Doctrine of fairness «REGIONAL COUNCILLOR THIS IS NOT A PARTISAN ELECTION: * Full time representative - office accessibility * Sensitive to natural justice and consciously Respect for statutes - Charter of Rights Better integration - governing and governed Tourist compliment - if elected will contribute and fund raise for an art sculpture * * * Improved credibility gap * * Shuffling the same people creates complacency - does not contribute to a healthy equalized democracy.
