Sponsored by the Police force, the games will be held November 23 at the Pickering Recreation Complex. More than 60 young people are expected to take part in the games which include swimming and obstacle courses. High Single: Vall Harns - 220 High Triple: Valli Harms - 591 for the Novice A / L The Novice No. 1's played an ex- hibition game against the Oshawa Red Wings on Friday, October 25th and were soundly beaten 6-0. But the players redeemed themselves on the following Saturday afternoon when they were hosted by Picker- ing. The game ended with Port win- ning 5-0. In both games the forward line of Mike Labanovich, Brett Lawson and Sandy Mark played exceptional. As a result of their digging and skating, much of the play was kept out of our end. Great game, boys. On Saturday, in Pickering, although the Pearce Auctioneers outplayed the Pickering team and had many scoring opportunities, they were unable to capitalize on them until late in the second period. With only a minute remaining, Joey Broadworth netted his first of the season, with well earned assists go- ing to Davey Bourgeois and Scott Heasman. Thirty seconds later, Brent Harper scored his first of the game, assisted by defenceman Keith Haist, the period ending with Port leading 2-0. In the third period after several attempts, Davey Bourgeois put Port's third goal between the pipes, assisted by Scott Heasman. Eleven seconds later, Brent Harper scored his second of the day, assisted by Gavin Carnegie an Kenton LeFort. To round off the scoring, Joey Broadworth scored again, ending the game at 5-0 win for Port. On Friday, November 1st, the Pearce Auctioneers hosted the Port Hope Panthers for their first match- up of the season. Although the game resulted in a 5-1 loss, the team played well but were kept off the scoreboard until late in the third period. Davey Bourgeois put in Port's lone marker on a beautiful shot assisted by Brent Harper. For- ward Jay Tredway and defenceman Andrew Jones played a great game Friday with Andrew clearing the puck out of our end and Jay making many good rushes. To make the weekend complete, the team travelled to Brooklin on Sunday afternoon and played Whit- by in an exhibition game. It was Port Perry's game from the first drop of the puck until the buzzer went to end the game. All the team members played a grea game giving 100 percent all the time, defeating Whitby 8-0. The scoring went as follows: Davey Bourgeois 2 goals and 2 assists; Brent Harper 2 goals; Mike Labanovich 1 goal and 1 assist; Sandy Mark 1 goal; Jay Tredway 1 goal, Scott Heasman 2 assists and Kenton LeFort; Greg Thompson and goalie Mike Pashley - 1 assist each. The Novice No. 1's next game is Friday, November 8th at 7 p.m against Stouffville. See you there Petites open on a winning note On Saturday. November 2, the Bruton'sI D A Petites travelled to Mariposa for our first league game and were successful with a 13-6 vic- tory Port got on the scoreboard early and maintained the lead throughout the game At the end of the first period the score was 92 for Port Tracy Pelow. in goal, made some good stops She was helped by the defense of Tanya Towns, Kim Finley, Kim Pop pleton and Christina Hicken Scorers in this game were Denna Lovering 3 goals, 3 assists: Lyn- dsay Dutkewich 3 goals. 3 assists. Amy Parliament 5 goals, 2 assists. Shannon Fox 2 goals, Kelly Men: zies 4 assists, Kim Finley, Kim Poppleton and Christina Hicken | assist each. Jennifer Morden and all of the girls played well in this first game.
