On Thursday night they played Oshawa Black Hawks and in one of the worst displays of sportsmanship and inadequate coaching on Oshawa"s part, the Eagles won 9 to 1 1 must say in this game the true character of the Eagles came through as Oshawa had over 100 minutes in penalties and Port only had 13 minutes This was not a hockey game as we know it, but more like a scene from Slap Shot. | was very proud of our teams coaching staff by the way they kept their cool and didn't get involved in any of Oshawa's dirty tactics. Doing the scoring for Port were Chris Lane with the hat trick, Craig Menzies with 2 goals, Lee Wilbur, Andy Sytsma and Derrick Dexter, and Rob Baker picking up singles. Getting assists were Dave Burnett with 3, Andy Sytsma had a big night with 4, Craig Menzies with 2, Scott Burke with 3 assists, Greg Warriner and Chris Cookman, John Harman picking up 1 each. Bill Eade played well in goal the few times he was tested. On Friday night the Eagles travelled to Stouffville where they were defeated 7 to 3 by a very good team Being without 3 of our regular players like Dave Culbert, Rob Baker and John Harman who has become the spark plug of this team, and Lee Wilbur going at 'y speed due to a freak accident at high school, with all of these guys back, we should give them a much better game the next time we meet. Scor- ing for the Eagles were Craig Men- zies assisted by Dave Burnett, Dave Burnett assisted by Brad Menzies and Derrick Dexter on a nice solo effort In case some of you fans are not familiar with the coaching staff, Doug Scott is back as coach; Glen McCoy and Todd Wilbur assistants and old faithful Hillis Wilbur as Manager. The Eagles are involved in a tournament this weekend at Port. They play Huntsville at 10 A.M. The following weeks they will be at Bancroft, Georgetown and Bowmanville for tournaments.
