16 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, January 14, 1986 First things first at Head UCW Scugog Island Area News by Mrs. Earl Reader On Wednesday evening 11 members of the **Head"' U.C.W. met at the home of Mrs. June Haynes with a new executive in charge. June's group was in charge of the Devotional period, which was bas- ed on Proverbs 3 and a study of "First Things First."' During the Roll Call, we discovered that other members had found they were not able to ac- complish all their December dreams and we learned how they were solving the dilema. The new president Jan Gerrow called for an executive meeting at her home Tuesday, January 21 at 8 p.m. She had prepared reports of our 1985 projects with receipts and general expenses and donations. Copies of these reports were distributed for detailed study and consideration along with a request for our interests and suggestions to be discussed at the executive meeting. Notes and letters of appreciation were received and read from several recipients of year-end dona- tions as well as remembrance to Monte Carlo HAIR FASHION 11 Water Street, Port Perry - 985-3684 staff. Helen Hortop sure knew the right place to find a puzzling contest for "our knowledge. But I'm afraid most of us failed and proved that we don't give our dictionaries enough atten- tion or at least Reader's Digest Monthly page to enrich our Word Power. These are busy days of summariz- ing annual reports for printing prior a general meeting for futur ¢ plans. 2 "The beautiful weather 01 Sunday encouraged a very good &.tendance at the Island United Church on Sunday.
