Mrs. Annie Adams of England was the sister whom the Baileys visited after so many years apart. Then illness struck a few Island people when Syd Chandler, John and Mabel Sweetman entered hospital with pneumonia. Of course Marion Hughes has spent several weeks there with New Year's Day at home. Recently she was visited "by a nephew who takes part in the "Musical Ride" for special occa- sions. He was on his way to an African holiday. Prior to the pneumonia patients, Earl Reader had gone to hospital with a massive stroke, resulting in some handicaps. It seems as if John Sweetman may celebrate his 85th birthday then with an unusual group of guests on January 22nd, as the hospital is just about full. Other victims have flu which they are nursing at home.
