Last year the local organization raised $7,600 and chairman Judy Smith is hoping to top that this year with new areas Manchester, Green- bank and the Ridges. Heron * Do you have any old eye glasses not being used? Burns Church Ses- sion has taken on the commitment of gathering as many glasses as possible. They will be taken to Stouffville to the International Christian Blind Mission, so bring yours to the church, to any member of the Session and they will go to help people in other countries who otherwise can not see to read. Next Sunday at Burns Church Sacrament of Holy Communion will be offered. Also the installation of office bearers will take place. On February 16th, the Boy Scouts Parade and Service will be held. This week on Friday evening, there will be a congregational pot luck supper beginning at 6:30 and the annual meeting will follow the review and consider the work of the church. All members are urged to attend. : Much sympathy is extended to Ray Porter in the death of his uncle of Nova Scotia. Ray attended the funeral and also visited with his father and family there. The annual meeting of the Com- munity Centre was held last Mon- day evening in the Centre. Anna and Archie Walker are . long time residents of this area and I'm sure Anna would appreciate any cards and/or visits considering her lengthy stay in hospital. Hope you are able to go home soon Anna. Robinglade Estates Women's Group meets this month on Tues- day, February 11th at Ann San- diford's home. Another interesting evening is planned so please try and attend this one! Erma Wood and Jean Johnston won the ladies prizes. Verna Slute got the most lone hands. Ruby Smith won the 50/50 draw. Bill Hodgins and Joan Fleming won the door prizes. The next euchre party will be held on February 13th. Ken and Elaine Heron of Bracebridge visited with their parents, Ted and Rose Heron, last weekend. It's good to see Betty Emm, also. Mr. Thomas Dobson able to be out again after their bouts in Oshawa Hospital.
