It's fitting that the teams involved pair off against each other and thus control their own destinies. Utica Farm Equipment and Goreski's Insulation are deadlock- - ed at the head of the pack and will go head at 5:00 this coming Sunday. Goreski's hold a game in hand, but should Utica come out victorious, they would secure first place on the basis of their head to head play against each other over the course of the season. All Goreski's needs is a tie as their game in hand is against B&L Donuts whom they haven't lost to yet this season, and are almost assured of a win when they meet on Sunday, February 16. Fourth place, and the right to represent the league at the Regional Playdowns in the Intermediate divi- sion Tier II, will be fought over this Sunday at 4:00 between Emmer- son's Insurance and Oddfellows. To date these two have split their season match-ups with a win apiece and one tie. Being this evenly mat- ched should they tie again this week it would then go to goals for and - against between them, which Odd- fellows leads 12-10 at this time. There is even a tight race for the - league scoring championship as Mike Mitchell of Utica and Tom Powell of Goreski's sit atop with 26 points each. There are then five more who sit back of them trailing by no more than four points. This past Sunday's scores reflect on the league standings as Beacock's defeated Utica for a se- cond time this season, this time by a 3-1 score. B&L Donuts have ap- peared as somewhat of a spoiler for Oddfellows and Emmerson's as they defeated Emmersons 2-1 for their second win of the season, their first being over Oddfellows three weeks ago. Goreski's continued tearing up the record book as they downed Oddfellows 7-1 giving them a total of 104 goals scored so far this year.
