Lake Simcoe culture station is cancelled The Liberal Government has in- troduced a residential angling licence on the condition that most of the revenues generated will be us- ed directly for programmes to im- "prove Ontario's fisheries. The proposed project would have added 200,000 to 300,000 whitefish to the lake per year. Whitefish will now be shipped from a fish farm near Tweed. In the first game the Eagles ham- mered Ajax 15 to 2, then they pound- ed Pickering 13 to 3 and whipped Markham 10 to 3. Curling Corner talks OCA by Scott Howey This weekend, February 14 - 16, Port Perry Curling Club is hosting the O.C.A. Senior Regionals Com- 'petition and the O.C.A. Junior Mix- ed Competition. The Senior event is the second step in that competition and will see eight teams, two from each of zones 5,6,7,8 which include this area and the Toronto area, vy- ing for two spots that advance to the Ontario Finals. From the Ontario Finals one team goes to the Canadians. The Junior Mixed, also at the club this weekend, will see teams from Oshawa to Richmond Hill, to On Sunday, February 9 the Goreski Bantam No. 1's travelled to Whitby and came out on the winn- ing end of a 10 to 3 score.
