a Sint sa lh i Learning all about plants Ashburn and Area News by Mrs. E. Heron This is the time of year when our house plants begin to show growth from the warmer sunshine so give them some fertilizer and some tender loving care and come out to Brooklin Horticulture on Wednes- day evening, February 26th when we will learn how to care for our plants properly and also learn about some lovely new house plants. There will also be some slides shown that we will enjoy. The Bible Class met last Wednes- day afternoon at the home of Rose Heron. The President, Nellie Hopkins, opened the meeting with the Hymn "Heavenly Sunshine," then her message for the opening devotions was titled *'Winsome Wisdom. There is no place in the Bi- ble that says we should be sad. It is good for us to laugh with others and al ourselves. A merry heart doth good like a medicine." The business for the coming year was planned and some new ideas discussed and lunch was served by the hostess. The business meeting followed and reports from all branches were good, but we are always striving to do a little better. The biggest dream of the year was the new church roof which is now on and we are feeling the benefit of it as we come to worship in a nice warm church. A Happy Special Birthday to Moyra Griffin, our store-keeper and post mistress. We all appreciate her friendly greeting as we go into the store. Last Sunday at Burns Church, Rev. Thomas Gemmell of Whitby and of church offices on Wynford Dr. was our guest minister. It was Boy Scouts day and it was a very impressive sight to see the Cubs, Scouts and Venturers mar- ching in with their leaders and following the flags. The scriptures were read by Timm Griffin, Venturer, Andrew Wright, Scout and Danny Young, Cub. The choir sang "Lift up your Hearts' and Rev. Gemmell's message was titled "God's Laughter." If you still haven't looked for those eye glasses that are not being used, you can still bring them to the church or give them to one of the elders. Never does a day begin wiinout having something to be thankful for. About your hearty What is Hardening Of The Arteries? A common form of hardening of the arteries is atherosclerosis.
