Roy and Shirley Turner returned home from a sixty-five holiday to New Zealand and Australia. Their fabulous trip started out with four days in Fiji. Roy and Shirley then took bus tours of North and South Islands of New Zealand. Next stop was a seven day stay in Sydney, Australia after which they went on a bus trip along the reef coast to Cairns. They flew to Ayres Spring and Ayers Rock. They enjoyed spen- ding five days in Melbourne visiting friends from Ontario. From Melbourne the travellers proceeded to Tasmania where they spent six days and went on a specialized tour of Hobart Harbour. They flew to Tahiti where they visited Mooren, the site of South Pacific film for five days. Roy and Shirley returned home by way of Los Angeles and Toronto. During the sixty five days they had only four bits of showers. Roy was fascinated by the fact that no where do these areas receive any snow any time of the year except in the mountains. What a great way to spend the first three months of 1986. My apologies concerning the fact of the television programme featur- ing Craig Paisley on Channel 11 on Saturday. Channel 11 assures us that this programme will be aired on this coming Saturday March 15 at 11:30 a.m. We hope that it follows the schedules this week. Several local Junior Farmers are involved this week in the Durham East Charity Bed Push from Bowmanville to the Provincial March Conference in' London. Please call Craig Larmer 986-4250 or Lawrence VanCamp 986-5557 with your pledge. Claudia and Harvey McDiarmid have just returned home from a week's vacation in Venezuela and report a great holiday. Madeline and Jim Leatherdale spent a short holiday in Los Vegas last week celebrating their twenty- fifth wedding anniversary. Congratulations. Sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mcintyre and family on the recent passing of his mother. Many area curlers have hosted their skills and challenged various competitors recently at a number of bonspiels. Sadly to say I've not seen any new cars because of it -- guess we're not quite in the same league as Lukowich.
