Ts I " church kitchen for bake-off " Utica and Area News by Vera Brown There will be a Good Friday ser- vice in Epsom Church starting at 10:30 a.m. which will be followed by a lunch of soup and sandwiches. Those who aren't supplying soup are asked to please bring sandwiches and everyone is asked to bring their own soup bowl. On Saturday evening, also in Ep- som Church, the Social Club will have their monthly gathering at 8 p.m. The men of the church will be invading the kitchen and hope everyone will enjoy their cooking - and baking contest. There will also be games to complete the evening. The Taylors and Aslings are in charge. Easter Sunday service will be at Epsom Church at 11:15 a.m. This will include a service of Holy Communion. There will be a euchre in Utica Hall this Friday at 8 p.m. Spring is definitely here, so the calendar says. There are several sightings of robins and there are "even flowers coming up despite some cold days and nights. Can't wait to get those old golf clubs swinging. Mrs. Mona Mero of Marsh Hill visited with Mrs. Crosier on Sunday. Mrs. Bruce Bailey, Allan and Mrs. Dora Geer visited with Mr. Doug McKinley in Toronto recently on the occasion of his birthday. Best wishes go to Mrs. Edna Dia- mond as she Jeaves the community this week to live with son Bob and family in Oshawa until she can get into her new home. A coffee table was presented to Edna recently on behalf of her friends and neighbours. The Diamond farm has been purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Hutchings of Oshawa who I would like to welcome to the 6th Concession. Recent visitors with Mrs. Helen Goslin were Wayne, Joan Hartwick and boys of Kincardine, John and Linda Arbuckle and girls of Nestleton. Don and Kathy Trump of Scarborough were weekend visitors and Mr. Glen Goslin of Blackstock joined them for supper. Helen was treated to supper out by son Glen recently. Mrs. Mildred Thompson was a Sunday supper guest with Mr. and Mrs. Don Hill at Mount Albert. . Mr. and Mrs. Jim Fielding and girls of Pefferlaw were Sunday sup- per guests with his parents Earl and Irene Fielding.
