Scouting | | Corner | We've had a busy time with Scouting in the last two month« ] February 16 to 23rd was Scout-Guide Week, and some groups celebrated with banquets, church parades and other special events. On Saturday, February 22nd, our District held a Sixers and Seconds Day at the Caesarea Commurtity Hall, and the days activities includ- ed ice-fishing, crafts, games and lunch. The Beavers held their Winter Fair Day at the Port Perry Scout Hall on March 2nd. The boys had a lot of fun with crafts, games, songs and snowmobile rides. This last week and weekend saw the Port Perry Scout Hall as the site of Grand Prix racing -- Cub style -- as 170 Cubs raced their handmade Kub Kar creations. Eleven packs from across the District held their own races Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday night, and all day Saturday. Saturday night the engine roar was a little deeper, as the leaders met to race their 18 wheelers and cars. Then Sunday afternoon the pack winners gathered again to race in the District finals. Eighteen boys are now qualified to go on to the Regionals in Barrie on April 20th. Congratulations to all who worked so hard on their projects -- you all won!
