Dale Davis conducted the impressive Service assisted by Stu- 'dent Minister Verna Windrem ... dealing with the Seven Deadly Sins. The pulpit was draped in black with .seven purple candles burning to begin the Service and extinguished by the seven readers representing the seven sins. A large wooden Cross and Crown of thorns rested on the Communion Table. Readings by various members from both Blackstock and Nestleton Churches interspersed by choral response by the choir and the congregation made for a very appropriate Good Friday Service. A Ladies' quartet sang two numbers, "If That Isn't Love' and 'Follow Me" also a solo by Janice MacKenzie 'I Walked In The Garden." The offering was received by Ralph Larmer and Ralph Sadler. The service closed with "of Thy Love" Gwen Malcolm - organist. Easter Sunday Greeting at the door were David and Regenia Walker, Avril and Kyle, on a spring day which brought forth many worshippers to church. The service conducted by Rev. Dale Davis ... ably assisted by Verna Windrem. Many beautiful hymns were sung in keeping with Easter celebration, The Sunday School sang- led by Janice MacKenzie pianist Betty Headon and much en- joyed. The children liked their story with Rev. Dale who had a real live bunny for them to see and pet. The lovely flowers gracing the Sanc- tuary were placed in memory of Cecil B.R. Henderson by his wife Christina and daughter Chris Davis and family. A great Easter celebration! Easter News Items Henry and Effa Stainton hosted their family for Easter ... also a bir- thday celebration for father and grandpa Henry. Pine Ridge Garden Club hosts busy sale by Shirley Love President Pine Ridge Garden Club started their season off on March 5th with a Pot Luck Supper with approx- imately 50 members and their families enjoying a delicious assort- ment of casseroles, salads and desserts. After supper a series of films were shown. Most enjoyed "'Sprintime in Holland" and were delighted with the film "Cat-tails" which showed the various uses of this lovely swamp weed. Muffins can be made as well as using in salads and cooking as a vegetable. The monthly competition was won - by M. Bailey. G.
