The baking was most delicious. Walter Kerry won first prize with a large carrot cake decorated as an Easter Bunny. Don Aslings' entry was a cherry cheese square which took 2nd prize and in the Bread and Bun category, Bill McKay was winner. Every item of baking was delicious from bread to blueberry pie. Elizabeth and Earl Taylor enter- tained his sister Ruth of Cannington and their son Ray of Whitby on Sunday. Faye and Keith Ashton and fami- ly were hosts to her family Don and Stella Asling. Pat Asling and Ivan Clark, Dr. Jerrold and Mrs. Asling and daughters of Hanover on Sun- day evening. Allan and Joyce Ashton, Paul, Sandra and Bradley of Oakwood were supper guests with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ashton, Lois and Barry Bushell, Lorie and Allen Bradbury, and Don Asling were callers at the Ashton home. Pat Asling and Stella visited Stella's sister Elsie Gorrill in Lind- say and sister-in-law Teresa Ryall of Oakwood one day last week. Mr. Howard Gourlie Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gourlie Jr. were Sun- day guests with Doris Armstrong and Tom. Congratulations to Cathy Baster on her birthday. Grandma and grandpa Jones were supper guests to honour the occasion. Earl and Marie Wilson hosted a surprise party for Mr. and Mrs. David Wood and Tiffany who are moving to Nestleton. Close friends and neighbours came to wish them well in their new home. Betty Tapscott's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Thomas of Markham, were Sunday guests of Betty and Norman and family. Sunday callers at the Jeffery home were John and Yvonne Moore, Heather, Nicholas and Karley. Last Monday evening (at milking time) the Epsom 4-H went to visit the Ross Evan's barns. The girls have been taking a course "Milk Makes It" and this outing was part of the course. After watching the milking process the girls enjoyed a tasty lunch. Sharon Wilson, the On- tario County Dairy Princess, was present to give a talk to the girls which was very interesting. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Watson and children of Scarborough and Mr. Fred Watson of Ajax were Sunday . visitors with their parents Archie and Jenny Watson. John and Joanne Hansen and Sara of Markham were Sunday supper guests with Evelyn Hansen, Wayne and Linda Ford and Allison were also guests at the Hansen home on Sunday. : : Good Friday Service saw our church with a capacity crowd. The music of the choir was most inspir- ing. On Easter Sunday the church again was filled with worshippers. The choir again supplied a couple of anthems. Thanks for all your hard work -- it was much appreciated. Mrs. Simpson and Paula Wilson were noon guests with Earl and Marie Wilson on Sunday. Keep in mind the Bethesda Reach W.I. Spring Lunch April 8 at noon at United Church, Uxbridge. There will be a fashion show. Tickets are on sale at Tiers Drug Store or from any of the W.I. members. Jill Postma and Beth Wilson hosted a party for Drew Royle who is soon going to move from the area. Several of his school friends were present. We will miss the Royle family but wish them much hap- piness and good health in their new home. Elva and Walter Kerry were pleased to have all their family home for the holiday weekend. I have a notice from the Epsom School Accommodation Committee to the parents and community members to attend a meeting with the School Accommodation Com- mittee on Thursday, April 10 at 8 p.m. at the Old School.
