Early in the second period Lyndsay from Amy and Jennifer Morden and again Lyndsay from Amy and Denna tied the score. By this time our girls were fired up and the team spirit was finally back. The game continued as a close checking see-saw battle with the play going from end to end. With just over six minutes left in the game, Amy from Shannon broke the tie and gave us the lead. Seconds later Denna blasted one past their goaltender and a few seconds later Denna from Kelly Menzies blasted her second of the day: Whitby came back with a goal but Shannon unassisted gave us a three-goal lead again. Whitby did manage to score one more goal to make the final score 8-6 for us. This win gave Port Perry Petites the gold medal for the league and a banner to hang in our arena. Thanks to our sponsor for the drinks. A highlight of this game was Lyndsay Dutkewich earning the game ring by scoring her 50th goal of the season. This was the goal that tied the game. Congratulations Lyndsay. Way to work girls! That is sure a nice way to cap off a most successful season. Thanks go to our parents for their support and en- couragement throughout the season and particularly the last few games with your chanting and clapping. We needed it! Don't forget our annual Ringette Banquet on Saturday, April 19th at 5:30 p.m. in the Blackstock Com- munity Centre. See you there! 13 - 9 WIN On Monday March 24, the Bruton's IDA Petites hosted the Mariposa team in the last game of our round robin play off series and defeated them by a score of 13-9.
