An MNR official said a similar program was carried out two years ago and this year the staff wants to collect data on the size of the fish as it's likely the legal keep limit will be raised from 28 inches to 34 inches for the 1987 fishing season. Crews will be working in the area of the causeway just east of Port Perry for the next two or three weeks. Volunteers with the Muskies Canada organizations are providing overnight security to keep poachers and the curious away from the traps.
