The drawing took place at the close of the "Meet Deutz-Allis -- See What Sets Us Apart' program, which was designed to introduce area farmers to the Deutz-Allis Corporation--a new full-line farm equipment com- pany resulting from the merger bet- ween Allis-Chalmers and Deutz- Fahr. The presentation explained the role Deutz-Allis expects to play in serving the needs of North American farmers. The event was sponsored by Trewin Farm Equipment at Blackstock Recreation Centre (April 7) on the occasion of their 25th Anniversary of service to the community as as Allis-Chalmers (Deutz-Allis) dealership. The Trewin family also contributed a drgwing for the use of two new Deutz-Allis tractors for 20 hours. The winners were local farmers Glenn Larmer and Don Linton. The A-C dealership (dating from about 1944) was originally purchas- ed from Beare Motors of Port Perry by Fred and Jean Trewin in 1961 and has been operated by Jean, Lloyd and Earle Trewin since 1970. In their quarter-century of service to the farm community in this area, the Trewins have participated in numerous tours of the Milwaukee, Independence and Batavia facilities, and at the Loretta Lynn demonstration farm operated in conjunction with Allis-Chalmers.
