Date and place of presentation should be given, along with any other information which would help the service refer the most ap- propriate speaker. The Ontario Public Education Panel on AIDS also has a series of fact sheets which are available for the public: Information About AIDS, Information for Parents and Teachers, Detecting AIDS, Women and AIDS, and AIDS and the Workplace. "Speakers will travel to various parts of the province if one is not available locally. Since, as volunteers, they are not paid, we ask that groups they visit cover their transportation costs," said Dr. Browne, who is also director of social work at Chedoke-McMaster Hospital in Hamilton. Among the speakers are health professionals, including doctors and nurses, social workers and members of the clergy, as well as lawyers and educators. Health Minister Murray Elston announced last September the ministry would provide up to $300,000 to establish OPEPA, with the aim of supporting and counsell- ing people with AIDS. Of the total amount, $200,000 was set aside for the panel to promote information and education for public and high- risk groups. The remaining $100,000 was directed to the AIDS Commit- tee of Toronto (ACT) to maintain a community education officer and volunteer co-ordinators for its AIDS program. . WHERE ... Will Your Children Be Tomorrow? Because of serious over-crowding of Prince Albert and R.H. Cornish Schools -- ---- washroom facilities, playground accidents, supervision, etc. ------ you are urged to attend the open meeting for the vote by the Fair Board on the subject of 'Lease Breaking' on the present Fair Ground site. It is unfortunate that the quality of education of your children over the next several years should be decided by a vote of approximately 35 Fair Board members, however, it's a FACT. It would seem that between the Durham Board of Education, the Mayor and Local Council and the Fair Board, this problem could have been solved in an amicable way to all concerned in the preceding years when overcrowding began. Now it's too late ------ but your children's education should not have to suffer because of it. | certainly hope that the Board holds a 'Recorded Vote". The community needs a Fair Ground, but more importantly, it needs good future citizens. MUNICIPAL OFFICES - MAY 14, 1986 BE THERE, YOUR CHILDREN DESERVE YOUR SUPPORT.
