Current regulations allow stores under 2400 square feet and with three employees to stay open on Sundays provided they are selling certain items like food, drugs, con- fectionaries, or handicrafts made in Canada. During Monday's meeting at council, Mr. Ballard and Mr. Carnegie were invited to present their arguments to the executive of the Chamber of Commerce. Health Week at hospital Canada Health Week is just around the corner and the staff at Community Hospital in Port Perry will be presenting several displays on topics related to personal health. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (May 12-14) from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M., the staff at the hospital are extending an invitation to the public to visit the hospital and take a look at these displays. Members of Township council will be touring the hospital next Monday as will a class of high school students. The effort next week will not only recognize Canada Health Week, but also will help celebrate the 40th an- niversary of Community Hospital in Port Perry. Here is an opportunity to learn about personal health and healthy life-styles, meet the staff at their stations. Some of the topics that will be displayed and discussed include fitness, alcohol use and abuse, smoking, safety in the home, nutri- tion, contraception and blood pressure.
