The Museum will be opening for its eighth season, May 12th un- til October 13th 10a.m. to 5 p.m. dai- _ ly. This 32 hectare living Museum consisting of over 30 buildings and displays traces the evolution of agriculture in Ontario. New this season will be the reconstruction of a 1910 stone school house which will represent the many one-room school houses vital to the rural community. In addition, a display depicting Ontario's apple industry will be featured. A special exhibit, 'Rural Women - Labour and Leisure 1830s to 1980s' will feature the role of rural women over the past 150 years. This unique and enlightening display will be located in the Museum's Gambrel Barn from July 1st to August 22nd. Daily demonstrations of spinning, weaving, wheelwrighting, blacksmithing, horse drawn wagon rides, farming activities and much more will highlight a visit. Special events are featured on weekends throughout the season. 'Tin Lizzies | and Rumble Seats," the Museum's tirst event for 1986, will be featured on Sunday, May 25th. A showing of over 75 antique cars will be on display as part of the annual judg- ing meet of the Historical Automobile Society of Canada. More than a Museum and more than a farm, the Ontario Agricultural Museum provides an ideal outing for the entire family. ALMA SOPHIA TAYLOR After a long life devoted to her family, church and community, Alma (McLaughlin) passed away after a brief illness in Port Perry Memorial Hospital, on Friday, April 11th, 1986 in her 89th year. The only daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth McLaughlin of Nestleton, she was predeceased by her hus- band Roy in 1970 and her son, Arnold in 1982. She is survived by her son Anson of Scarborough, her daughter Kathleen Watts of Blackstock, her brother Harry McLaughlin, Nestleton. She is also survived by four granddaughters -- Dianne Brackenbury, Katherine Devins, Betty Jane McLarnon, and Carolyn Redican and four great grand- children -- Melanie Devins, Danielle McLarnon and Peter and Stephen Redican. Kiwanis Festival. The Concert Band will ng this Wednesday evening (May 7) as PPHS puts on its annual Music Night Taylor Mrs. Taylor was born in the farm home presently occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Harry McLaughlin. After her marriage to Roy Taylor, she lived on a farm on Highway 7A near Blackstock. Later they had a retire- ment home built in the village, where Mrs. Taylor resided until moving to a nursing home two years ago. The Funeral Service was held in the Wagg-McDermott-Panabaker Funeral Home in Port Perry, on Monday, April 14th, followed by In- terment in Union Cemetery near Cadmus. The Pallbearers were -- Neil Bailey, Bob Brackenbury, Lawrence Malcolm, Dan McLar- non, Lawrence McLaughlin and Roy McLaughlin.
