The SADD Motorsport evening at Port Perry High School last Thursday featured several special guests who spoke to a crowd of young people about racing, safe driving and cars in general. From left: Rick Williams, mechanic with the Anderson/Rivet racing team; Dennis Ander- son, sponsor of the IROC Camaro; Derek Ross, of Vancouver, a driver in the Honda racing series; Mike Rysiecki, Rivet Racing manager: driver Mike Rivet; Helene Vail of Lightning Video which is a major sponsor of the IROC Camaro this year; Greg Heasman and Sandy Garvock of the Durham Police who spoke on safe driving; and General Motors Canada reps Martin Chenhall and Bob Glassford. This week at Mosport, Mike Rivet will be driving the Ander- | son Camaro in the second race of the Players Challenge. Also, last Monday at the Dennis Anderson Chev Olds dealership, well known TV personality Glenn Cochrane was on hand to help kick off a fundraising drive for. the Hospital for Sick Children telethon. The Rivet/Anderson rac- ing team will be taking pledges this week for the telethon. Cuboree day for Pine Ridge District is May 31st, with Sunderland hosting an Expo '86 theme day. Registration takes place at 9:00, followed by a day of games and "International" events, and en- ding at 4:30. Five teams of 2 Venturers each will be taking part in the Oshawa District Triathalon on the weekend of June 13, 14 and 15th. The main event takes place on Saturday, with the teams competing in a canoe race on the Nonquon River from the 8th ~ conc. to the Seagrave bridge, follow- ed by a bicycle race from Seagrave to Durham College, and finishing (quite literally!) with an obstacle race from the College to Camp Samac. Boynton passed away on Monday, May 12, 1986. The loving daughter of the late Alfred and Annie Kemp was born June 6, 1925, at 160 College Ave. in Oshawa. : On July 15, 1944, while both were in the armed forces, Marg. married her loving and devoted husband Norman L. Boynton at Simcoe St. S. United Church, Oshawa. Marg. is survived by her husband Norm and their children Jim, Pat and Norma. Daughter-in-law Bev of Barrie, sons-in-law Al Brooks of Whitby and Ian Cannon of Prince Albert.
