Ombra was born at Port Hope, and moved to Northern Ontario at the age of five. She grew up in Uno Park and New Liskeard, where her father worked on the TNO railroad. In 1919, her father, Liscar Scott, purchased a farm at Se grave. Here Ombra met and married Bill Clarke, spen- ding most of her married life on the family farm at R.R. 3, Little Britain. They raised two sons, Harvey and Jack.
