Playground news Prince Albert by Sherri, Tina, & Pam This week went well and next week will be even better. There will be puppet making and lots of other crafts. Since it is Holiday Week each day will represent a different holi- day. Tuesday is Easter L.., So we will be having a jelly bean hunt. Thursday will be Thanksgiving Day and the children will be exchanging lunches, and Friday will be Hallo ween Day so the children can dress up and have a bit of a party. We can't forget the tour of McDonalds on Wednesday morning. As you can see there will be lots of fun. We hope to see you all there. Scugog Island Well the second week of Playground is over. It was a fun and successful one, learning new songs, crafts and games. The children real- ly enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies they made for themselves on Kriday. Our fundraiser went over very well. The draw for the Care Bear Cake from Creative Kitchen will be held on Tuesday 22. The win- 'ner will be notified. The money we raised will go towards the trip at the end of the summer. Our third week's theme has been set as 'Holiday Week."' Each day of the week will be a special one. Mon- day will be Easter Day, Tuesday will be Christmas Day, Wednesday will be Valentines Day, Thursday will be Halloween Day, and lastly Friday will be Thanksgiving Day. Hot dogs will be sold on Tuesday with a drink for the price of $1.00. Thursday popcorn and drinks will be sold for 50 cents to eat while en- joying our movies. We will be swim- ming on Wednesday at Birdseye Pool. Friday the children will be having a Bake Sale at the Scugog Island Hall. Don't miss the goodies! Keep sending in the odds and ends they are really appreciated by the Playground Staff and children. Well that's it for this week. Come out and join the fun! Greenbank by Tara, Michelle & Michael Well, we've come to the end of another successful and exciting week. We would like to thank all of the generous people who donated pop bottles to us and also to the Chicken Coop Bakery in Greenbank for the tour through the kitchen & store. This week is Holiday Week and we will be celebrating Easter, Valen- tines Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We will be going swimming on Monday and watching movies on Wednesday. Also, on Thursday, the drawing of the Care Bear Cake will be held at 9:15 and a prize will be awarded to the child who sells the most tickets. Come & join the fun! Blackstock by Tammy, Lisa, & Christine Well our second week has come to an end, but there is still four weeks to come so come and, join now and enjoy all the funfilled things we have in store for you. We started our second week off by selling tickets for our Cake Raffle, which is to be held on July 23rd at Playground. On Wednesday we held our Bake Sale and each child enjoyed pur- chasing some of their favourite desserts. We all found the Bake Sale to be quite successful, which will help in our funds to send the kids to Canadas Wonderland at the end of the program. A special thanks to the parents who helped in our Bake Sale. It was well appreciated. Next week our theme will be "Holiday Week."" Each day will represent a different holiday such as: Christmas one day and Valen- tines Day another and many more will be porirayea. We had a clown day Dowson family reunion Descendents of Frank and Libby Dowson met at the home of Merlin and Dora at Ball Point for their fourth annual reunion. The Reesor family, the staff of Dowson's Valu- Mart and long time friends of Merl and Dora were also present. This reunion was turned into a surprise celebration of the 45th an- niversary of Merl and Dora's wed- ding. Seventy-five people signed the guest book. Friends came from Port Perry, Willowdale, Etobicoke, Scugog and Blackwater. Congratulations were received from Prime Minister and Mrs. and the kids dressed up. The best costume were won by Leanne Paf- frath and Jason Rodgers. This week (July 21-25) is Holiday Week and we have lots of things planned!
