SIMCOE STREET A proposal for the development of 14 single family homes on the west side of Siincoe Street, across from the curling Club and Fairgrounds, was endorsed by council at the meeting on Monday. The development proposal was submitted to council three weeks ago by Port Perry businessman Ralph Fairman. The lots would be serviced with municipal water and septic systems. AUTO BODY SHOP An application to rezone a property on North Street for an auto body repair shop was ap- proved by council. However, in approving the ap- plication by Doug Hughes, the council has put down several restrictions including the hours of operation for the shop, no outside storage and the right to review the decision in three years time. When this matter came up at a public meeting two weeks ago, there were several formal objec- tions to the re-zoning application. Council planning decisions The property is located on the north side of North Street im- mediately east of Port Perry Prin- ting. It is now zoned commercial and has a residential dwelling on it. The proposed auto body repair and paint shop would be located behind the house on the property.
