From the pizza place we went to the park to eat our pizza's and they were great. Thank you Square Boy! Friday we made Cake Cones and once again the children enjoyed them! This week is "Special Day" week. Tuesday is hat day so everyone is asked to wear a wild and crazy hat. Hot dogs and drinks will be sold for $1. Wednesday is sunglasses day so we will look cool at the pool. Thursday is Teddy Bear Day, everyone should bring their Teddy Bear to cuddle up with! Also on Thursday, we will be having a tour of McDonald's for which we need parent drivers. The tour is at 9:30 so we ask that the children be at the hall by 8:45 along with the drivers. Friday is 'Punk Day.' Everyone is to dress up in their wild and crazy clothes. We will be having films so popcorn and drinks will be sold for 50 cents. Come on out and Join the Fun! GREENBANK PLAYGROUND by Tara, Michelle & Michael 'Welcome to Cartoon and Fairy Tale week! This week will be short, but filled with songs, games and crafts. On Wednesday we will be having a dress-up day and also our weekly movies with popcorn and kool-aid. Thursday is the day that we have all been waiting for, the trip to Pleasure Valley! : Friday will be our hot dog, ic cream and kool-aid day! BLACKSTOCK CARE BEARS - by Tammy, Lisa & Christine Hi again, well we made it through another week of playground. This past week was featured as "Career"' week. On Monday, we talked and drew pictures about different careers we would like to do in the future. The , kids had a really good time. Tuesday, we travelled to Baum- chen's Egg Farm, where the kids had a most enjoyable day picking up the remains of the chicken beaks which were laying on the floor after the process of de-beaking process took place. Our driver Mrs. Martyn really enjoyed that part of our trip. We don't think she will ever forget Muir named chairman Port Perry accountant David Muir has been elected to a second term as chairman of the Communi- ty Memorial Hospital Board. Board members Derek Willis and Rod Foster will serve as vice- chairmen of the 11 person Board. And Randy Scott, a resident of Scugog Island has been appointed to the Hospital Board by the Township Council. Mr. Scott is a high school teacher. Other members of the Board of Directors include Doug Hillier, Joy - Hull, Ted Kemp, Elaine Buchanan, Howard Hall, Joyce Kelly, secretary David Brown and Chief of Staff Dr. Mike Krempowich' it, On Thursday morning, officer Neil Bradley ventured to our playground. He talked to the kids about street-proofing and protection against strangers. He made a very good point about having a code worked with each child and their parents. No serious injuries in area accidents Durham Regional Police report several motor vehicle accidents in Scugog Township over the past week. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries. "A 17-year old Blackstock area youth escaped serious injury August 3 when the tractor he was driving flipped over at the intersection of the Manvers-Cartwright boundary roads. Police say the young man, aged 17, was pinned under the tractor, but not seriously hurt. Damage to the tractor was set at $4,000. A two vehicle accident about 9:30 p.m. August 3 resulted in nearly $4,000 total damage to both cars. The accident occurred on the Cart- wright boundary line when one of the drivers apparently braked sud- denly and was hit by a second car following behind. There were no in- juries but a 17-year Cartwright Township youth is facing Highway Traffic charges as a result of the accident. A Whitby man and an Ashburn man escaped injury July 29 when they were involved in a two car ac- cident on Durham Road 2 near the- Shirley Road. Damage was nearly $10,000. No charges were laid. Piano results On June 25 & 27 the Western On- tario Conservatory of Music held a piano examination centre at the Town Hall in Port Perrry. Students _ attended from Port Perry and many surrounding communities. The ex- aminer was Dr. Gary Spilsted from London, Ontario.
