i "KENNEDY - LATTA Greenbank United Church was the setting for the marriage of Rowen Ker - nedy and Carol Latta, May 31, 1986. Rev. David Sheppard of Greenbank and Rev. E.E. Kent of Waterloo, grandfather of the groom, officiated the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Latta of Greenbank. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Kennedy of Prince Albert. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a long white organza gown trimmed in chantilly lace, beaded bodice and Queen Anne neckline with semi- cathedral train. She carried a crescent of white gardenia's and pink roses with some stephanotis. Maid of honour was Shirley Chambers, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Julie Blow, Cindy Latta, both sisters of the bride, and Terry McClurg, sister of the groom. They wore long gowns of pink flowered satin with mat- ching hats and carried nosegays of pink daisies, mini carnations, lilacs and a dusting of baby's breath. The best man was Mark Kennedy, brother of the groom. Ushers were Rick Hope, friend of the groom, Stewart Latta, brother of the bride and Dale McClurg, brother-in-law of the groom. They wore silver grey tuxedos with pink cummerbunds and pink bow-ties. The groom wore a silver grey tux- edo with silver grey vest. Soloist was Mary Lem of Barrie, cousin of the groom and Master of Ceremonies 'as Mr. Frank Rott of Oshawa, uncle of the bride. The recepti.n and dance were held at the Port Perry Latcham Centre. The happy couple spent their honeymoon in Niagara Falls and are now residing in Prince Albert. Last Thursday, Wendy Evans and her mother attended the Champion- ship Dressage Show at Newmarket. Robbie Sprules and Cindy also at- tended the show for several days last week. . We are mourning the passing of our friend and neighbour Mr. Malcolm Bailey. Mal was known far and wide for his interest in Angus Show Cattle and his humorous outlook on life. Our deepest sym- pathy to all members of the Bailey family from Epsom Community. Mrs. Maharaj has been waiting for a long time to have her mother visit her and was so happy to have her mother from Trinidad with her last week. We are pleased to know Mrs. Ralph Veitch is home from the hospital. Paul and Shirley Baster had a very enjoyable holiday at the Lake of Bays last week. While at Emsdale for a few days last week Don and Stella Asling visited John and Ruth Reed of Sun- dridge, and Walter and Elva Kerry at Sprucedale. Donald Asling also visited his brother Walter at Ajax hospital on Saturday. Thursday, Grant and Holly Elford, Timothy and Daniel of Saskatoon, Sask. and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elford had supper with Earl and Marie Wilson. Michael and Jennifer Watson of Guelph visited their grandparents Archie and Jenny Watson for a few days last week. On Saturday evening Earl and Marie Wilson and Mrs. W.0. Simp- son were supper guests with Lois and Harry Elford of Sandford while Neil and Beth Elford, Luke, Andrew and John of Edmonton, Alta. were visiting his parents. School days will soon be over for Mark Kerry ashe has only one more exam to write before returning home for a week's holiday. The Benns family were supper guests with her parents Mr. & Mrs. Allan Card on Sunday. Doug and Beth Wilson and children visited Don and Fay Sim- monds on Sunday. Dawn and David Wilson of Aurora will be spending the week with Aunt Beth and Uncle Doug Wilson and their children. Earl and Elizabeth Taylor, Earl's sister Miss Ruth Taylor and Mr. Jack Evans visited with John and Ruth Reed at Sundridge last week. Keith and Faye Ashton and fami- ly and his parents Howard and Ruth Ashton were supper guests with Mr. and Mrs. Allan Ashton of Oakwood on Sunday. This past week Bradley Ashton of Oakwood visited his cousin Robert Ashton while Jamie Ashton visited his cousin Paul of Oakwood. Pat and Mel Cracknell were in Toronto last week to attend the funeral of a close friend. While on their trip to the West - Coast Arthur and Eleanor Powell visited with Tom and Vivian Kart- zmark in Warren, Manitoba who wish to be remembered to Epsom friends. Darlene Christie has returned from an enjoyable trip to Cape Breton Island. There she had a wonderful visit with her friend Mag- gie McKeegan and her wee daughter Gerrille in North Sidney. Darlene recently had former teaching friend Miriam Sherman and children of Edmonton and friend Janet Brown and children of Orillia, call for a visit. On Thursday, August 7, Darlene helped her Aunt Beryl Martin of Oshawa celebrate her birthday by taking her out for dinner. Don't forget the meeting at the : Greenbank Hall on August 13th for the planning of the playground structure at the Public School. Ruby and George Beare have returned home from an enjoyable . tour of England and a pleasant visit with relatives. Mrs. Janice Perkins was a bridesmaid and Miss Holly Beatty was a flowergirl. There will be T-Ball on August 12th and 19th. The T-Ball party will be on August 26th. If there is anyone willing to coach T-Ball next year please contact Earla. If nooneis in- terested it will be discontinued next year. Congratulations to Marita and Dan Clydsdale on the long awaited safe arrival of baby Jennifer on Tuesday, August 5th at Centennial Hospital.
