ER i a AS a i iE a a de I Be Entertain nursing home residents Nestleton-Caesarea News by Mabel Cawker On Thursday afternoon, Norm and Bernice Mairs lovely home at East Quarterline, Nestleton, was the scene of the fourth outing for the residents from the Port Perry Com- munity Nursing Home and Scugog Island Central Seven Home. This annual event is sponsored by the Pine Ridge Garden Club, and there were some 55 present including aides from the Nursing Home...and Pine Ridge Garden Club members. Those who so capably entertain- ed were Dave Ellis, Blackstock, Ed- na Beckett and George and Ethel Freeman from Scugog Island. A delicious lunch was served by the Pine Ridge Garden Club ladies to close an afternoon of pleasure for all. Birthday Party Enjoyed John and Marion Hall, Williams Point, hosted a family birthday par- ty on Sunday, August 10, for John's brother, Bill Hall, Hillsdale Manor, who turned 75 years old! Family members present for this lovely oc- - casion were... Helen Henry, Colum- bus, Dorothy Pierson, Oshawa, and Dave and Marguerite Hall (residents of Williams Point for the summer). Trip of Interest Lawrence and Gwen Malcolm of Nestleton, have just returned from a most enjoyable holiday in Western Canada. They flew to Vancouver and spent three days at Expo '86. They also visited his sister Jean, (Mr. and Mrs. James Millet) - at Richmond, B.C. Following a Royal Glacier Bus Tour to Banff, Lake Louise and other points of interest, Nestleton United Church Next Sunday, August 24, at 2:30 p.m. will be the Nestleton Decora- tion Day Service. Families in the News Alva Fleury of Brockville, is spen- ding a couple of weeks with John and Marion Hall at their home at Williams Point. Alva is a first cousin of Marion Halls. | Visiting during the week with Neta Fish of Nestleton were: Marlene Bannister, Keith & Rhon- da Bannister and Nicole of Peter- borough, Audrey Leishman & son William of Reaboro, and Calvin & Yvonne Holland and family of Bowmanville. The family were help- ing Neta with many extra chores, and also helping her celebrate her birthday on August 14 as well. She was the recipient of a variety of gifts and many pretty cards from relatives and friends. Our best to Neta for many more! Sam & Mabel Cawker of Scugog Pt. Rd., were very pleased to have niece Mildred Johne & family, Jen- nifer & Chris for dinner on Monday evening. They were on their way to Ottawa where Mildred has a teaching position this coming year. On Saturday last, it was a pleasure to have Chas & Nell Cawker of Scarborough visit for the day at the Cawker farmstead with Sam & Mabel. Caesarea Community Church A very wonderful attendance for the friendly Caesarea Church on Sunday morning, August 17, with Rev. Dr. W.H. Crawford in charge. In the evening at 7 p.m. Kevin & 'Gerry Adams had a fine variety pro- gram of singing, prayers and wor- ship. A farewell to this young cou- ple was held as they leave for home this week. They will be greatly miss- -- THE ~ ed after the ten weeks of fellowship and study with the Caesarea folks. So nice to meet their parents while they visited weekends in Caesarea.
