One child was born on August 23, 1970, and named Heidi Meisner. The other, named Delena Carriere, was born three days later on August 26. The two new mothers were in rooms two doors away from each other and became aquainted. As Mrs. Meisner had a photographer friend, pictures were taken of the two girls as they lay side by side in the nursery. When the two women were - discharged from the hospital, each carried their bundles of joy home and thought no more about the encounter. Eleven years ago, the Meisners moved from their home in West Hill to Greenbank. After several moves of their own, the Carriere family . made the transition from Oshawa to Greenbank in 1984. After a fourteen-year separation, the two girls were re-united.
