One car, a new Buick Somerset, only went as far as around the block, where the owners found it shortly after it was taken. The other car, a 1978 Nova, wasn't found until the next day, on Highway 401 westbound, near Whit- by. The Nova had apparently run out of gasoline. Durham Regional Police believe the thefts are connected and both cases are still under investigation. A <> cc.
