Fall fun with the Y.M.C.A. Summer's passing can bring the blues but the Durham Region Fami- ly YMCA"s new and continuing pro- grams may perk you up with renew- ed interest in the fall. Pre-schoolers will be on the road to fitness with our Kindergym pro- gram of exercises and gymnastics. This program will be offered in both Blackstock and Port Perry. If they would rather do arts and crafts and enjoy sing-songs and games our enrichment courses of Tiny Tots and Creative Crafts might be of special interest. These programs will be of- fered Friday mornings and also on Saturday mornings enabling work- ing parents to enjoy some time with their young children. Older children can enrol in our new Introductory Piano course which is designed to determine if a child has an interest and aptitude for playing the piano. Two courses . continuing for school-age children . are gymnastics and floor hockey. These courses are again being of- fered in both Port Perry and Blackstock and after enjoying a very successful first season early enrolment is suggested. Teens will be interested in two programs being offered. The Baby- Sitting Training Course, which em- phasizes practical skills and respon- sible child-care techniques is open to students 12 years or older. Also a Leaders-in-Training Course is available for teens age 13-17. The po Edi ams 10-year old student at Cartwright Central Public School took third playground leaders or child-care 'place for her bright blue stop sign. : BE I a mmm= Obituary WILLIAM CLARENCE MULRAY (BILL) William Clarence Murray (Bill) died at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on August 14, 1986. Born on August 20, 1904 in Mount Albert he was the youngest son of Peter and Mary Murray. The greatest part of Bill's life was spent in the Uxbridge area. He was a familiar figure in the local homes as he tended to the installation and repair of the telephones for the Woodbridge and Vaughn Telephone Company and later Bell Canada in all a total of forty-one years. ~ In 1928 he married Minnie Foster of London, England. A fond father introduced his three sons to his favourite sport, fishing - a major portion of Bill's spare time was spent playing at his most loved game, pool. His professional calibre of play allowed him the privilege of playing the worlds best such as Cliff Thorburn. The Funeral Service, from Low and Low Funeral Home, was con- ducted by Rev. Frank Vanderzwan. Bill will be much missed by his devoted wife Minnie, son's Ross, Ken, and Bill, and their wives, ten grandchildren, five great- grandchildren, a sister Blanche, predeceased by Roy, Martha, Samuel, Joseph, Edna, and Archie. Pallbearers were nephews, Mur- ray Smith, Melvin Smith, Rodd Foster, Douglas Foster, Richard Bott and grandson Vernon Murray.
