While parents and school dignitaries officially opened the new 'playground equipment at Green- bank Public School Thursday night, a small army of children hooted and hollered on the equipment, joyfully drowning out their elders in the process. ¢ School principal Kathy Hamilton welcomed a crowd of parents and local people to the opening, which marked the conclusion of a massive fundraising campaign on the part of parents and their children. Durham Board of Education trustee Joyce Kelly called it "'a wonderful idea" and credited the many volunteers who worked so hard on the project. Her fellow trustee Debbie Tred- way said, 'I know from personal ex- perience thay my kids are just thrill- ed about it!"
