16 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, September 30, 1986 Clarence Butson of Port Perry says the fall crop of raspber- ries on the bushes in his backyard is as good as he's seen for quite some time. Clarence says the damp September is probably the reason for the bumper raspberry crop this year. That's a welcome change from the crop earlier in the year which was not nearly as "bountiful. Clarence is hoping the many berries still on the bushes have a chance to ripen up before the first severe frost hits. 121/-hp Lawn Tractors New 160 with 5-speed transaxle and 165 with hydrostatic drive, each with 38-in. cut. Durham- York MPP, Ross Stevenson says that it is unfortunate that the cabinet ministers have acted in such an irresponsible manner. Stevenson questions the negligence of the ministers to com- ply with the guidelines. "The guidelines are based on a trust that all ministers will follow them. Trust is essential in public life and I feel that the Liberal cabinet has failed the people of Ontario," added Stevenson. Premier Peterson stated that his guidelines were very strict when he introduced them. The government's chief conflict advisor, Blenus Wright, has noted that the guidelines are not as strict as those of the previous Conservative government. "It appears that the cabinet is not squeeky clean as Peterson has said on several occa- sions," Stevenson commented. Aird recommends that conflict legislation be introduced and the ap- pointment of an independent com- missioner of compliance to oversee it. Stevenson s.id that it is unfor- tunate that legislation is necessary because cabinet ministers have violated the trust of Ontarians.
