PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, October 28, 1986 -- ? NDP is fighting for Halloween Masquerade ball | Scout parents dress up the Anniversary Sunday went well Scugog lsland Area News by Mrs. Earl Reader The end of October brings us notice of several things such as the return to Standard Time, Halloween on a Friday night and best of all the Annual Halloween Masquerade Dance for the adults in the Com- munity Hall, sponsored by parents of Scouts, Cubs & Beavers, for Saturday night November 1. I hope you have planned your costume. Some of us delay too long. So we re- mind you this week is your last chance to call Gordon Brown 985-8553 for your tickets. The mothers of the Guides & Brownies at their meeting decided to have their Annual Christmas Craft and Bake Sale on November 22 in the Community Hall. Any dona- tions of these items will be ap- preciated. It should be an accep- table time on a Saturday 11 to 2 p.m. The next *'Head" U.C.W. meeting will be held Nov. 5 evening (Guy Fawkes day) at the home of Clara Dowson. If you don't know anything about Guy Fawkes, you'd better look it up. In case you missed the Women's Institute news, we'd like to remind you of the hand made gift for ex- change at the Nov. meeting. Last week Mrs. Myrtle Gimblett of 7A went into hospital for some vein surgery. So she probably won't be in any races for awhile. However, we wish her a speedy recovery and a chance to have a good rest. The services at the Island United and Manchester are holding up well in all areas. The people are suppor- ting our problems. The request for over the top. The guest speakers vary from Sunday to Sunday and many former ministers are only too glad to help out. Next Sunday we will be pleased to welcome back Rev. Barry Pogue.
