YY YY 14 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, November 11, 1986 Remembering those who served A bright sun and a fierce wina from the north greeted marchers in the annual Legion Rembrance Day Parade and Service held last Sun- - day morning in Port Perry. The parade, led by the Uxbridge Legion Pipe and Drum Band, made its way along Bay, Rosa, Balsam and Simcoe Streets and ended in front of the Legion Hall where the Cenotaph Service was held. Legion vice-president Jack Lee read the names of men from this community who gave their lives in armed conflict, while buglers Gloria Wilson and Andreena Coulter from the Port Perry Army Cadet Corps sounded the Last Post. The Parade marchers included the Legion Colour Guard, members J Members of the local Army Cadet Corps served as honour A a and veterans with Port Perry Legion, 21 Army Cadets from PPHS. members of the Scugog Fire Department and a group of local Guides. Numerous wreaths were laid at the foot of the Cenotaph from the Legion and Auxiliary, Scugog Township, the Provincial govern- ment, the Fire Department, Durham Police, Girl Guides and the Durham Catholic School Board. Silver Cross Mother Mrs. Tot Rahm of Scugog Township placed a wreath on behalf of all mothers who lost sons in two World Wars and the Korean conflict.
