Tuesday (28), the day was kept busy with the final touches being put on the Halloween Costumes. Wednesday was our Annual Hallo- ween Party. This year we came dressed as a song theme. Everyone had a great time. Our judges for the evening were Ann Lown and Kent Farndale. Winners for the best costumes were E. Post, M. Bowles, L. Blaikie, J. Tuck, M. Maynes and S. Ayers. J. Gerrow won the "guess the number of candies in the pum- pkin jar" contest. Great entertain- ment was provided by Rainbow the Clown, Archie Walker and Claire Whitter. Many residents helped to make their own costumes, but the staff did help to make some, therefore we would like to express our appreciation to them. Also thankyou to the kitchen staff for pro- viding a lovely lunch. Thursday (30), 13 residents gathered in the activity room to make candy apples that they were giving out on Halloween night. Friday was bingo. Congratula- tions to the several winners that we had. Some children from R.H. Cor- nish Public School came to visit us and parade around in their Hallo- ween costumes. They then sang several songs and handed out pum- pkins that they made out of felt. The residents in turn handed out candies to them. The staff got into the spirit of things this day and came to work in their masquarade outfits. During the evening we handed out candies to all of the children that came "Trick or Treating' at our door. After the weekend we started off the month of November with bowl- ing on the Monday. Top scorer for the day was Becky Gray with 102 pts. Congratulations Becky!! Tuesday a Discussion Group was held. The main topic in discussion was "What if you were a millionaire."* Other stories that were told were on families, pets and travelling adventures. We certain- ly had some interesting stories told to us. Wednesday (5), a manicure ses- sion was held. Thursday during the morning we all enjoyed an exercise program led by Mrs. Riet Orde. She has graciously volunteered to lead this program 1 or 2 times a week. In the afternoon a craft session was held. The Legion ladies put on a bingo in the evening. Congratulations to the winners. Friday was baking. The ladies prepared a few carrot loaves. Birthday wishes are extended to Minnie Harper (Nov. 20), Mr. Donald Spencley (23), Mrs. Joanne Lunney (25), and Mrs. Sadie Ayers (26). We would like to express our con- dolences tc the family of the late May Gould. Our sympathy is with you at this time. To end the column this week I'd like to give you a reminder that we are holding our Annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, December 6th at 11:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m.
