Beautiful quilts These beautiful "Log Cabin" pattern quilts were proudly displayed at the Night School open house last week at PPHS. The quilts were made by Phyllis Robinson (front) from Sunderland and her daughter Adele Winkley of Port Perry. Candlelight marks the first Advent of season Greenbank and Area News Last Sunday was the first Sunday of Advent. Randy, Stephanie and Robbie Watson assisted in the lighting of the First Candle at our service on Sunday. The Junior Choir ° provided us with a beautiful an- them. The Adult Choir sang for us _ in their usual good voice. The Bible Study will be Tues. Dec. 2, and at 8 p.m. at the home of Rodd and Marie Foster. This will be the last meeting until Jan. 15, 1987. Everyone is invited to the U.C.W. pot-luck luncheon this Wed. Dec. 3, at 12:15 in the Greenbank Church. Come and bring a friend. The Port Perry Senior Citizens Club Choir will be guests next Sun- day at our morning service and will be providing special Christmas music for our listening pleasure. We will also be celebrating the Sacra- ment of The Lord's Supper with a Communion service. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. + Norman Watson on the opening of . the heautiful new Scugog Memorial Funeral home on Sunday. The girls from the Greenbank fall . exercise classes would like Mrs. Patti Fletcher and her helpers to know how very much they ap- preciated their good work in leading the course. A real good time was had and they report losing a few pounds. Thanks again girls. A dinner was held Sat. evening at Conway Place with sixty-five people attending to honour the Greenbank Gambler's Ball team. Mr. Lloyd Lee presented the players with jackets and team pictures. Pleased to see Mrs. Betty Stone out to church on Sunday, following her surgery and stay in hospital last week. Mrs. Helen McKean spent last week at Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia visiting with her daughter Donna West and her children Scott and Suzanne and her husband Sgt. Gor- don West of the RCMP. The Greenbank Brownies enjoyed a fun day on Sat. with their float in the Santa Claus Parade at Port Perry and then returned to Green- bank Hall for hot chocolate and treats. The W.1. meeting will be a dessert "luncheon at Mrs. Don McKean's home on Dec. 10th at 12:30. Come and bring a friend. Members may bring a gift of food or anything suitable for the Christmas box if they wish to contribute. The Hookers entertained friends on Sunday evening to watch the Grey Cup game together. Mrs. Carol McLean is improving, following her recent accident and hopes to return home this week. She wishes to thank everyone for their kindness and concern.
