Holds Interesting Meeting Eleven ladies attended the November meeting held at the home of Betty Headon in Nestleton. Kay Notman opened the meeting with a discussion regarding the Operation Scugog Christmas boxes. The minutes were read and approved and the treasurer's report showed a healthy balance. Joanne Malcolm led the worship with the theme *'There is no better way to say to God I Love You" than hrysler by giving. Cards were signed for three members of the congregation who have been in poor health. The Christmas pot-luck will be held at Arlene Malcolm's country home on Thurs. Dec. 18th at 6:30 p.m. An interesting programme of crafts was presented by the hostess. Everyone took home pine cone tree ornaments made at the meeting. Refreshments and a social time concluded a busy evening. Fred Swann conducted the service at 11 a.m. at Nestleton Presbyterian Church with Mrs. Joyce Taylor- organist. Psalm 8 was read and Scripture taken from 1st Epistle of John 4: 7-11 & 16-21. The sermon was based on the theme of Christmas which is love ... under four headings ... practise-proof- perfect and primacy. The Sacra- ment of the Lord's Supper will be held Sunday, Dec. 7th and the an- nual church dinner will follow the service on Sun. Dec. 14th. The baptismal of Benjamin Mar- tin O'Brien, son of Janice & Martin O'Brien of Mississauga, and grand- son of Barney & Dorothy McCabe of Nestleton, was attended by many relatives and friends. After the church service, Barney & Dorothy McCabe had a lovely party at their home with 28 people present for a delicious buffet luncheon which was enjoyed by all! What a meaningful day for the family! Dec. 9th at 1:30 p.m. Social Bits Charles & Nell Cawker, Scar- borough and Professor Ken Cawker, London were Tues. afternoon guests for tea and a visit with Sam and Mabel Cawker at the farm on Scugog Point Road. The Sam Cawkers were guests with George and Dell Skerratt, Port Perry, this past weekend and enjoyed seeing their new home. It was a pleasure to visit Jim and Marion Cawker, Manchester, Thurs. evening, and have a nice visit over the good cup of tea. Calvin and Yvonne Holland and family and mother, Neta Fish of Nestleton, had a very nice visit with Jim and Audrey Leishman and family of Reaboro this past weekend. The Leishman's made a return visit with Calvin and Yvonne and Neta on Sat. evening. Caesarea Community Church A splendid congregation for Sun- day morning with Rev. Dr. W.H. Crawford in the pulpit. Holy Com- munion was observed. Daniel Pugh Jr. read Scripture from Nehemiah 3 and Arden Maschke took the responsive reading. The children sang unaccompanied- very nice too! Kathleen and Anne played an organ and piano duo for the service. Rev. Dr. Crawford conducted a Memorial service in memory of the late Jack Anderson of Oshawa, who passed away a week ago. Jack was a good friend of the Caesarea Church peo- ple ... working very hard while there re- the building of the new Hall ... and many other activities as well. His family and friends were present for the Memorial Service. A beautiful floral arrangement enhanced the Sanctuary in his memory. Next Sunday for an in- teresting message. Sympathy Extended Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family of the late Winnifred Parry of Caesarea who passed away on Saturday last. Santa Claus Parade A Success Congratulations to the committee re- the Santa Claus Parade, Port - Perry, who had a very interesting day for the youngsters. I understand . the Blackstock (Cartwright) Nursery School won first prize for originality in their float! Our warmest congratulations to those who worked so hard on the float - it is commendable! Sorry we had to miss the parade! Caesarea had a great float in the Santa Claus Parade Saturday. There were many young peopie in- volved in creating our float, doing a super job. Many merchants and adults helped out with their time, vehicles and money. All of their con- tributions were appreciated. The Scouts and Ventures marched pro- udly to the music of the 'Chipmunks Christmas Carol," the rythmn and effect of the music lit up the eyes of young and old.
