Nestleton Presbyterian Church At 11 a.m. church service was held with Rev. Fred Swann in the pulpit...with Joyce Taylor playing the organ. Psalm 107 was read. Ken and David Weir read the story of Joseph and Zechariah and lit the Advent candles. The MacKenzie trio sang "Give A Gift" unaccompanied. A lovely, harmonious sacred number. Rev. Dale Davis used as her ser- mon theme, "Ensign Of Hope." The beautiful floral arrangements grac- ed the Sanctuary in memory of Leanne Haines who was killed in a car accident at Bowmanville during the week. The service closed with "O Come, All Ye Faithful' with Mabel Cawker...the organist. Meeting Attended Mrs. Louella Lewis of Mount Albert, Provincial Board Director of Subdivision No. 8, of the Women's Institutes of Ontario, held a day long meeting in Stouffville this past Mon- day to pass along information re - the Provincial Board activities. Much knowledge was gained by the officers attending this informative day to bring back to the Branches. The four York Districts and Ontario South had their officers present to learn about the many changes in W.1. work in the future. Those from Ontario South who attended were: Alternate Board Director Betty Reader, Scugog Is., District Presi- dent Alva Thompson, Port Perry, District Secretary Hazel Coates, Shirley, and Public Relations Of- ficer Mabel Cawker, of Nestleton. A lovely buffet luncheon was served at the noon hour. . Sympathy Extended We deeply sympathize with a good neighbour and friend, Norman Rohrer, Nestleton, daughter Bar- bara Fisher, Janetville, and sons Ken of Dunsford, and Barry of Blackstock in the loss of a loving wife and devoted Mother. Doris was a fine person, interested in Church and community and will be sadly missed by relatives and many friends. Sympathy to Adrian and Phyllis Haines of Tyrone, in the loss of their daughter Leanne by car accident during the week. Also - heartfelt sympathy to her grandfather Reg. Haines of Nestleton, and grand- mother Dorothy Haines of Port Perry. Leanne will be missed by a host of relatives and friends. Our sympathy to a good friend and a former resident of Williams Point, Bob and Ruth Davidge of Port Perry, in the loss of her Mother Mrs. Johnston. She is resting at the Wagg Funeral Chapel. We were very shocked and sad- dened to learn this morning of the death of Bert Corner of Nepean (near Ottawa). Our heartfelt sym- pathy to his wife Joan, his Mother Lillian and sister Jean. His parents Lloyd and Lillian Corner lived in Nestleton-Blackstock, - Lloyd was Manager of the Branch of the Com- merce in Nestleton and later in Blackstock. When they closed - they moved to Port Perry where he was in the Bank of Commerce for many years.
