The exciting announcement was made that Mrs. A. Squires, Moderator of our Church will be Guest Speaker at the 100th Anniversary in November. Janet and Blair Martyn, Tim held a family luncheon in honour of their son Brian's baptism with the follow- ing guests - Harold and Dora Mar- tyn, Ron and Ellie Martyn, Luke, Joshua and Julie, Goodwood, Todd Martyn, Roy and Shirley Turner, Lorie and Ron Minshall, Sara and Ken, Caledonia, Kathy and Peter . The next euchre in two weeks will be the special Christmas event with extra prizes, so try to attend. From there they went to Simcoe where they en- joyed the Panorama of Lights. On Saturday, Eileen accompanied her daughter Sharane to Toronto to the One of a Kind Craft Shows at the Exhibition. The Jack Skelding family attend- ed a family gathering at the home "of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Skelding on Saturday evening in celebration of Mrs. Elizabeth Skelding"s 80th birthday. Several of the men in the congregation namely- Carl Adams, Glenn Larmer, Ron Smith, Dale Davis and Bob Wheeler did some baking which was auction- ed. The tremendous variety of items that were donated was hard to describe. A very successful event. Another successful event was Breakfast with Santa sponsored by the Nursery School on Sunday mor- ning. Many families enjoyed a breakfast or brunch of pancakes and the youngsters enjoyed visiting with the grand old fellow. On Monday evening, many mothers, grandmothers and friends attended the Achievement Program for the last 4-H Project 'Milk Makes It."' The two Blackstock Clubs par- ticipated in the program. All the members of the Blackstock Masters of the Milky Way presented "Don't Cry Over Spilt Milk' while the demonstrators being Jill Van Camp, Tasi Wilson and Kerry Williamson. Following the six presentations comments were given on each. The plaques and plates were presented to the members and their leaders. Clair MacKenzie was presented with her pin for the completion of six projects. A very pleasant evening for all who attended. Congratulations to the Cartwright High School senior girl's basketball team, under the coaching of Mr. Fletcher, who are the silver medalists of the Single "A" Durham, York Secondary School Athletic Association. Our girls were defeated by Langstaff High School in a close game. Congratulations girls! On Saturday, the official opening of Blackstock Country Hardware was held. The local hardware now owned and operated by Pat and Bob Smith and Dale and Pat Procunier is beautifully decorated for the Christmas season. Congratulations on your official opening.
