Port Perry's Community Memorial Hospital got a real boost last Thurs: day when three (count 'em) separate organizations handed over donations totallinz $4,000. Ken Myrray and Ken Clark of the Port Perry's Lion Club chose Thurs- day to officially donate an IVAC pump, worth $2,300. The pump had actually arrived about a week previous. As emergency room nurse Geraldine Cooper pointed out, the pump is used to regulate .n- travenous fluid entering a patient's body, delivering a set level of fluid over a set period of time. No more, or no less medication can be given Nurse Geraldine Cooper demonstrates a new IVAC pump, purchased recently by the Port Community Memorial Hospital administrator David Brown gratefully accepts a donation from with the device, which is often used during the delivery of a baby. "You can't make a mistake with this machine," Nurse Cooper said. "It even tells you when there's a problem." Representatives of the Oddfellow and Rebekah Lodges, Clem Jeffrey and Rhoda Strong (both are Past Noble Grands) also made a sizeable donation to the hospital. Mobile chart holders for the recently renovated nursing station will be purchased thanks to a $1,500 donation from the lodges.
