The second period was all Goreskis as Bart Wagar, Bruce Woodrow from Dickson, and Danny Taylor all notched goals before Tim Ashbridge rounded out the scoring with three straight, Powell and Dickson each picked up an assist. Utica remained in second place by blanking B & L to the tune of 3-0. Their first goal came just three minutes into the affair when Ken Lynde scored, aided by Kevin Jbbittson. Before the period finish- ed it was 2-0 as Lynde set up Mur- ray Down. Lynde finished the scor- ing in the second frame on a pass from Down. Rick Lees between the pipes picked up the shutout. The final game of the day had Blackstock keep their third place position by beating Oddfellows 6-1. Oddfellows drew first blood only to have it called back for a man in the crease. This sparked Blackstock as Scugog Mens League Undefeated streak alive in broomball loop they rattled off four in the first. Number one went to Rick Bayard from Tom Wotten before Dave Dalton and Wayne McGuigan trad- ed goals and assists. The final count of the period went to Tim Cochrane from Ron Redman. Oddfellows got their count off the broom of Brian Pomeroy from Kopie Dejong. Dalton from Ron Short, and Cochrane from Redman finished off the days scoring. : B.J. upsets Sportsiand 4-1 The first game of the day was a one sided game in which B J Donuts defeated Sportsland 4-1. Scoring for BJ's were Dave Bourgeois 2 goals, Dale Bronson 1 goal, 1 assist, Al Bonner 1 goal. Assists to Bill Bridge with 2, Ed Olsen, Ken Nightengale, and Jim Duncan each with 1. The lone marker for Sportsland was Ken Smart assisted by Lee Steeves and Terry Bacall. Playing a great game between the pipes for BJ's was Merle Schewaga. Atoms win3 games Over the weekend of December 19-21 the Malmont Farm Atoms played 3 league games and skated to 3 solid victories. On Friday, December 19, 1986 the Malmont Atoms hosted Lindsay in the first of a two game home & away series. ~ This proved to be a real sound team effort as the Green Machine skated to a strong 6-0 victory. In the first period Sean McEnaney opened the scoring unassisted by showing some fancy stickhandling. David Pashley finished the scoring for the period going around the defence assisted by Steve Desautels and Gavin Cochrane. In the second period the Malmont Atoms continued to show their strength of scoring two more goals. Steve Desautels picked the corner assisted by Peter King. Then at the 4:26 mark Steve Desautels collected his second goal of the night assisted by Chad Garvock and David Pashley. The third period belonged to the Green Machine as they continued to hustle and show good team passing. The hard work resulted in two more goals. At the 7:11 mark Steve Desautels earned the hat trick (con- gratulations Steve) assisted by Chad Garvock. At 6:34 Jeff Card popped the final goal assisted by Mike Sluggett. On Saturday, December 20 the Malmont Atoms travelled to Lind- say to play a return match with this club. Again by showing good team play and spirit the Green Machine skated to another strong 5-1 victory. On Sunday, December 21 the Mal- mont Atoms travelled to Port Hope to play another league game. This proved to be a good test for the Green Machine as they were short 2 players and had to show extra desire. The boys continued the same hustle they have shown of late as they skated to a good 3-1 victory.
