Monday, December 22nd, the residents gathered in the din- ingroom for an afternoon of Christmas Movies. In the evening we loaded up the cars and headed out for a tour to see the Christmas Lights. Before returning home we stopped at the Scugog Memorial Chapel for an evening of songs and a visit from Santa Claus. The Seagrave Sunday School is "holding its annual meeting this Thursday. Jan. 8th at 7:30 p.m. in the Sunday School room. All parents ~ of Sunday School children are urg-' . -ed to attend. A detail bs Luella Graham ~ The December meeting of the Port 'Perry Hospital Ladies Aux- iliary was. held at the hospital on December 8th with 14 ladies present. .. . - The president opened the meeting with all repeating the Auxiliary Prayer in unison. She then wished" for everyone to have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Our vice-president was unable to " be there. as her husband was hav- ing surgery in"Oshawa Hospital the next day, a speedy recovery w as wished for him. -" i The minutes of the last meeting were then read by the secretary and approved. The treasurers report was then given. The Corr Sec. had sent out 3 thank you notes, and had also received some donations for the Auxiliary. Camille also gave a good report for the Tuck Shop. Isabel Wilson, Tuck Shop buyer, said she hoped that the slide on the candy ed announcement will appear in the Port Perry Star sometime in- January. The Seagrave Playschool starts up again this Friday, Jan. 9th. Children must be at least 3 or turn 3 during the 12 week session. There -are 12 Friday classes, the first be- ing Friday, Jan. 9th, which is also Registration day. Playschool will be held on that day as normal. Please pay at the time of registration, $24 per child. Cheques are preferable. If youwish your child to attend the Friday morning classes, please - register Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. Likewise, if you would prefer the afternoon, register at 1:00 p.m. I'd like to remind parents of Cubs, Scouts and Beavers, a parent meeting will be held Thursday night, Jan. 8th at 8 p.m. at the home of Betty Williams, 7 Robinglade Dr. Phone 985-8563. Also there has been 6 boys and 6 girls born at the hospital since our last meeting. There was not much under new business. We did receive an invitation to attend a Christmas . party at the hospital from 2-4 p.m. on Dec. 19th given by the Hospital Department Heads. -- As everyone was anxious to see if. they had won a doll, the meeting then closed followed by the draw. Also a lovely lunch of Christmas goodies was served by Mary, Ileen and Mary. We do thank all those who work- =~ eating 'goodies, doing sbme last minute decorating, wrapping gifts, etc: All of the residents went to bed early awaiting the arrival of good ole' Santa Claus. Merry Christmas!!! The day finally arrived. We spent the after- noon opening up gifts and visiting "with everyone. A sing Song was held ~~ ed so hard in selling tickets for the -- doll draw. which was a good suc- cess. . Over the weekend every one relax- ed and then it was back to our regular routine on Monday (29th) morning. Bowling was held in the afternoon with the top scorer being Lionel Blaikie with 92 pts. Con- gratulations Lionel!!! Tuesday, a Bingo session was held 'in the dining room. Congratulations to the several winners. - Throughout the afternoonon New Years Eve a Discussioni group was held. Shortly after supper it was Party time. We sure were rocking at our New Years Eve Party. We were singing, dancing, sipping wine, and eating cheese & crackers. Friday, January 2nd all ol the residents that had recouperated from all of the partying got together and put on their thinking caps for a quiz game. : We would like to express our sincere condolences to the families' of the late Mrs. Ethel May Wotten and the late Miss Sophie Percy. May passed away quietly on December 22nd after being ill for quite some time. Sophie also passed away on Dec. 22nd after being ill for the past 2 months.
