Think Snow everyone. The weather last Sunday was just perfect for the first. '"'ride-in "breakfast" and Poker Rally held at the clubhouse. About 50 delicious breakfasts were served by the ladies of the kitchen under Jean Short's directions and over 50 PoKer hands were played. What's a Poker Rally you ask? Well I'll explain When You register for the rally, you're given a sealed envelope con- taining a playing card. But no cheating, you can't peek yet' Then it's outdoors where you jump onto your trusty snowmobile (well, most of the time it's trusty.) and go for a leisurely ride following a route previously marked by the 'Game Juniors tie 5-5 . by Sherry Harris On Saturday, Jan. 3 the Port Perry Sportsland Juniors paid a visit to Iroquois Park for a league game against the Whitby squad. The Port girls seemed hungry to play and jumped into a 1 goal lead before the game was even 8 seconds old. The rest of the first period saw some very good playmaking from both teams but Whitby showed their experience at long passing and took a lead of 2-1 into the final frame. The second period saw the Whit- by girls score 2 more but this only seemed to spur the Port girls on as they scored twice to make the tally 4-3. With only 6 minutes left iri the game Whitby once again scored to _. make it 5-3 for the home team. The' Port team kept hounding the Whit- by girls and scored with only 3 minutes life to make for a dramatic' finish. This was a very exciting and fast skating game and the Port Juniors were well deserving of the tie. Ex- cellent goaltending by Terry Childs and the defensive play of Jen Pelow, Val White and Kim Caudle went a long way to preserve the tie. Scoring for Port were Kelly Calloway 2 goals, Sherry Harris 2 goals and Colleen York with 1. Assists went to Jen Pelow 3, Rachel Traynor 2, and singles to Val White, Cindy Harris and Michelle Beare.
