Jan. 18th. This was a celebration of the 25th anniversary of United Church Women. Eunice Rahm was the chairper- son for this occasion. The guest speaker Mrs. Shelley Wright of Oshawa gave an interesting talk about "United Church Women over the past 25 years." The double trio sang "This Man of Galilee." Helen McKean read the scripture lessons. A second unit of United Church Women is presently being formed in Greenbank. During the service, three candles were lit and prayers given for the past, present and future of the U.C.W. The closing hymn was "Onward Christian Women." One of Greenbank's oldest citizens, Mr. Ernest Lee died over the weekend. After being a resident of Fairview Lodge for a while, he. quietly past away at Ruddy Hospital, Whitby. The sympathy of the community to Olive and her family and to Frank and Laura Lee _ and their family. The annual Hall and Park Board ] Meeting will be at the Greenbank Community Hall, Thurs. Feb. 5that - 8 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Roundell and ¢ family visited with her parents Mr. Iansons helped Debbie and Joshua celebrate their birthdays. While a bountiful lunch was being q readied by the group, a quiz was given for all to test their knowledge on advertisements. Several from our community at- tended the 90th birthday party for Mrs. Lizzie Cookman on Sat. after- noon in Sunderland. Congratulations to a very active lady.
